Iris Kuo is a writer, journalist and the cofounder and CEO of LedBetter, a web app that shows the gender breakdown in the leadership of major companies.
Iris has written about business, race, Asia, tech, startups, art and travel for The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Inc., Fast Company and the First Round Review. In 2015, she received one of 10 Knight-Bagehot fellowships to study business and journalism at Columbia University. She was also chosen from a pool of 600+ applicants to receive a $9,500 grant from the International Women's Media Foundation's Howard G. Buffett Fund for LedBetter.
Iris spoken about gender and race at UC-Berkeley, Columbia University and the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA). She's the former president of AAJA Texas.
Iris holds a M.S. in journalism from Columbia University, where she also attended Columbia Business School. She also holds bachelor degrees in business and arts & performance from the University of Texas at Dallas.
