After a year of studying at Columbia Business School, Columbia SIPA and Columbia Journalism School, I now have a masters. I owe it all to the Knight-Bagehot fellowship program, which made this incredible year of learning possible. Cool fact: The Empire State building was lit up in blue on Wednesday, May 18, in honor of Columbia grads. Nice, right? What I really loved about graduation was the end -- they played Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" and the crowd jubilantly sang along. Alicia Keyes and Jay-Z's "New York" came on after that, and the streets around Columbia were mobbed by grads in baby blue, grads carrying flowers, grads embracing their families. What a happy day.
